I-CAN v6 accredited assessor
We are proud to announce that our occupational therapist, Dylan, has become an I-CAN v6 accredited assessor. This accreditation means Dylan is now qualified to use the I-CAN v6 assessment tool to accurately report on an individual’s support needs. The I-CAN is a relatively new and evidence-based tool designed to provide clearer, more consistent outcomes during NDIS planning. According to Pensa (2016), using a standardised measure like the I-CAN can significantly improve how support needs are identified and met, ensuring people receive the right level of assistance tailored to their unique requirements. Dylan’s expertise with the I-CAN v6 reinforces our commitment to person-centred occupational therapy that genuinely supports people of all abilities.
I-CAN – The Instrument for the Classification and Assessment of Support Needs
The I-CAN is a practical tool designed to help understand the level and type of support a person may require in daily life. It provides a structured approach to assess needs across different areas, ensuring support is tailored to the individual. By identifying strengths, challenges, and necessary assistance, I-CAN helps families, carers, and professionals make informed decisions that promote independence, well-being, and quality of life.
